2nd Hunan Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo opens

The 2nd Hunan Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo kicked off at the Chenzhou Changjuan Historical and Cultural Block on the evening of September 15.

About 150 intangible cultural heritage (ICH) projects, and nearly 1,000 intangible cultural heritage inheritors and performers participated in this expo. The expo was held between September 15 and 17. 
 
This expo included two major sections: immersive scene ICH exhibition and ICH market.

Tourism scenes of ICH exhibition were set up from different aspects. Apart from visiting the expo, guests could also experience interactive programs like Tujia bronze bell dance, Cai Lun paper-making and wedding customs. 
 
The ICH market focuses on food, shopping, tourism and entertainment. Through the latest application of ICH digital services, intelligent equipment and smart management, it showcased ICH technology interactive products such as blue calico printing and dyeing, and Taoyuan embroidery VR experience space.

Such places as Xinjiang, Tibet and the Greater Bay Area were also invited to participate in this expo, with characteristic ICH projects showcasing, like ivory carving (bone carving), Xinjiang pyrography and Turpan colored pottery.

Also, an event to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the UNESCO’s Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage was also held. A special publicity and exhibition area was set up, with special commemorative activities to be held in the form of exhibitions online and offline.
